Google to sentence YouTube violators to 'copyright school'

The new updates unveiled Thursday allow users to watch a new tutorial video about YouTube’s copyright policies and access a redesigned copyright help center.

In addition, Google instituted new policies for users who are found to have violated YouTube’s copyright rules.

If YouTube receives a copyright notification about a user’s video, the user will have to complete “YouTube Copyright School,” which requires watching a tutorial video and passing a quiz to prove the user understands the copyright policies.

Turning Point

Sometimes, when you least expect it, you change. Not because of the outside world--that spins madly on no matter what--but because some part of you is tired of living the way you did before. For so long I have let obsession with grades and success dominate my life, my very sense of self. I'm tired of it.

The sun is passing behind clouds and reemerging again and again outside my window. I can't see the sky, all I can see are the apartments that are across the way, but I know that's what's happening because everything is pulsating bright and gray outside.

I refuse to feel like a caged bird anymore. There are too many things to see and do and feel before my life will be eclipsed by another generation.

Sometimes you have to end before you can really begin.

Knowing each other

Each has his past shut in him like the leaves of a book known to him by his heart, and his friends can only read the title. -Virginia Woolf

A poem for the revolution(s)

Sonnet: England in 1819

An old, mad, blind, despised, and dying king, -
Princes, the dregs of their dull race, who flow
Through public scorn, -mud from a muddy spring, -
Rulers who neither see, nor feel, nor know,
But leech-like to their fainting country cling,
Till they drop, blind in blood, without a blow, -
A people starved and stabbed in the untilled field, -
An army, which liberticide and prey
Makes as a two-edged sword to all who wield, -
Golden and sanguine laws which tempt and slay;
Religion Christless, Godless -a book sealed;
A Senate, -Time's worst statute unrepealed, -
Are graves from which a glorious Phantom may
Burst, to illumine our tempestuous day.

-Shelley

"Let all of life be an unfettered howl. Like the crowd greeting the gladiator. Don't stop to think, don't interrupt the scream, exhale, release life's rapture. Everything is blooming. Everything is flying. Everything is screaming, choking on its screams. Laughter. Running. Let-down hair. That is all there is to life. " -Nabokov

list

New list: Get in shape. Make costumes. Start a beaded jewelry business. Take hip hop dance class. Spend all day at the public library. Explore the city. Buy a scooter. Grow flowers in pots. Read beautiful books. Photograph. Write. Law school was a mistake and after I've paid my loans the law will be nothing to me.

potential

If I am as amateurish and mediocre a fiction writer as I am a legal thinker, then surely a bookstore in need of a shelver is calling my name.
